"The Crossing" is the fifteenth episode of the seventh season of ER. It is the 150th episode of the series overall. It first aired on NBC on February 22, 2001. It was written by Jack Orman and directed by Jonathan Kaplan. John Carter, Luka Kovač and the pregnant Elizabeth Corday go to the scene of a passenger train wreck and Luka confronts the demons of his past.

PlotEdit

Carter, Luka and Corday go to the scene of a passenger train wreck. When Corday develops early contractions at the scene, Carter is forced to perform a tricky double amputation on a pinned firefighter with Benton's guidance via radio and cell phone. Weaver discovers the cause of the train wreck. Luka wrestles with his faith and makes a confession to the dying Bishop Stewart about the death of his family during the Croatian War of Independence.

  • The scenes with the derailed train were shot on location in Fillmore, California. The Chicago skyline was added in via green screen.
