Synopsis

After two college students test positive for meningococcemia, Carter and Lewis race to stop a potential outbreak.

Abby is still trying to come to terms with breaking up with Luka and Benton faces off against Roger.

NBC Description

DR. CORDAY UNDER THE MICROSCOPE WHILE DR. LEWIS RACES AGAINST DEADLY DISEASE: Dr. Corday's (Alex Kingston) ordeal over the recent infectious deaths of several patients balloons when she is shadowed by a taskmaster (guest star Salli Saffioti) who follows her to check for cleanliness while Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) fields two college patients who are suddenly attacked by a fast and lethal virus.

Elsewhere, Dr. Benton (Eriq La Salle) clashes with his toddler son's "other" father, Roger (guest star Vondie Curtis Hall) over visitation rights; Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic) arranges for the ER to hire his friendly French barmaid (guest star Julie Delpy, "Killing Zoe") as a runner with near-disastrous results.

Abby (Maura Tierney) flirts with a wounded fireman and Dr. Greene (Anthony Edwards) must referee between his self-indulgent 14-year-old daughter Rachel (guest star Hallee Hirsh) and his tense, fed-up wife Corday. Noah Wyle and Paul McCrane also star.
