Point of Origin is the 18th episode of the 5th season of "E.R." It was first aired on April, 8 in 1999. It was written by Christopher Mack and directed by Christopher Misiano.
Greene uses a past trauma to help Mobalage save himself from deportation. Carter applies for chief resident and spends the day in charge of the ER, where he misunderstands a case involving the many broken bones of a baby, while Lucy begins her first psych rotation. Weaver may have found her biological mother, but defies a DNR order to find out for sure. Benton and Corday clash over a surgical fellowship.
Greene tries to help Mobalage when he's about to be deported, and Mark describes his beating in the men's room. Kerry tries to save a woman she believes is her birth mother. Hathaway decides to keep Doug's child. Benton and Corday clash over an ER fellowship. Carter is in charge for the day, part of a requirement for applying for chief resident.
