"Partly Cloudy, Chance of Rain" is the eighth episode of the eighth season of ER. It first aired on NBC on November 15th, 2001. It was written by Jack Orman and directed by David Nutter. The episode has Kerry Weaver and medical student Michael Gallant rush to the scene of a crashed ambulance where a stabbed pregnant woman with dangling power lines during a rainstorm. It also has Mark Greene treats a teen who is blamed for losing his younger brother in a flooded river.

Plot

Weaver and medical student Michael Gallant work on the field to save a stabbed pregnant woman in a crashed ambulance surrounded by live power lines during a rain storm. Also, Mark treats a teen who is being blamed for losing his younger brother in a flooded river and Carter treats his grandmother for a mysterious injury, but discovers a morbid link to his grandmother and a hit-and-run victim.

Meanwhile, Benton discovers a fateful DNA test which doesn't suit well on his custody battle with Reese and Cleo finishes her last days in County General.

ANGRY STORM CAUSES FLOOD OF BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS: When a torrential rainstorm pounds Chicago, patients stack up while Dr. Weaver (Laura Innes) speeds to an accident site where a pregnant woman (guest star Nina Landey) lies injured inside a wrecked ambulance while live power lines spark until heroic first-year resident Gallant (guest star Sharif Atkins) makes a dangerous leap of faith.

Elsewhere, a shaky Dr. Benton (Eriq La Salle) gets the lab reports that will determine if he is the father of his son Reese; Kovac's (Goran Visnjic) new girlfriend (guest star Julie Delpy, "Killing Zoe") gets in trouble and gives him some unexpected news.

Dr. Carter is shocked to see his grandmother (guest star Frances Sternhagen) wheeled in after breaking her hip in a hit-and-run car accident which injures a young woman (guest star Amy Jo Johnson, "Felicity") and Dr. Greene (Anthony Edwards) tends to a guilt-ridden boy (guest star Jack Johnson) who feels responsible for the disappearance of his younger brother after playing in a flooded river.

Maura Tierney, Michael Michele, Sherry Stringfield and Paul McCrane also star. Lisa Vidal (NBC's "Third Watch") also guest-stars.
